Nyt vuorossa olisi lisää tuota Kemin ihmettä, Sonata Arcticaa. Lainaukset ovat pitkiä, mutta tällä bändillä ei juuri ole sellaisia lyhyisiin mietelauseisiin katkaistavaa tekstiä, vaan asiat kerrotaan vähän pidemmän kerronnan kautta. Ehkäpä tämä on se suurin syy, miksen ole koskaan tuntenut Sonatan vähän turhankin selkeitä sanoituksia kovinkaan läheisiksi itselleni. Sanoitusten idea nimittäin on mulle se, että niistä saa vääntää ja kääntä jos jonkinlaista johtopäätöstä. Se on parhautta se!

Tähän asti viimeisimmän Nightwishin levyn ulosanti on minusta lähes parhainta Nightwishiä. Toisaalta, en pidä niin paljon esimerkiksi siitä satuteemasta, johon Storytime perustuu. Stam1na - tuo luultavasti paras suomenkielistä musiikkia esittävä yhtye sanoitusten osalta. Hyrdellä on aivan loistava tapa kirjoittaa sanoituksia, sillä niissä on mukana huumoria ja kuitenkin paljon faktaa pinnan alla. Minun oli tarkoitus tehdä tästä bändistä vain yksi postaus, mutta siitä olisi tullut sitten niin kilometriveijari, että useampia postauksia on siis tämänkin osalta tulossa. Pohdin pitkään, haluanko laittaa tämän kokonaisuudessaan. Päädyin kuitenkin siihen, että haluan, sillä tässä on oikeasti sanomaa. Tämä kohta auttaa minua lähes aina suhteuttamaan pahaa oloani.

Tällä kertaa vuorossa olisi Ensiferumin lyriikoita. En uutta levyä ole hirveästi lyriikoiden toivossa kuunnellut, joten vain ihan yksittäisiä lauseita on jäänyt mulle mieleen. From Afarilta ja Victory Songilta löytyvät omat lempibiisini ja sitä kautta myös lyriikat. Ensiferumin sanoituksista mulle kolahtaa yleensä ne, joissa on mukana vahvasti se historiallinen näkökulma. Erityisesti suomeksi lauletut kohdat koskettavat toisinaan aika syvästikin. Sotaa kuin sotaa ja sitten muutamia surullisia ihmiskohtaloita sinne tänne, niin johan toimii!

Jälleen olisi vuorossa Nightwishiä, tällä kertaa mun kahden lempilevyn lyriikoiden muodossa. Century Child kiilasi Oncen ohi joskus muinoin, ja nyt sitä onkin todella hankala syrjäyttää. Oncen sanoitukset koskettavat kuitenkin enemmän kuin Century Childin, vaikkakin CC:n biisit on enemmän lähellä sydäntä. Molemmat on omalla tavallaan parhautta. Lähes jokainen CC:n biisi kuuluu mun lempikipaleisiin, enkä levyltä pystyisi nimeämään kuin yhden muita heikomman biisin, joka ei sekään mitenkään erityisen huono ole.

Onnistuin varmaan herättämään mielenkiinnon, joten tämä kyseinen biisi on Feel for You. Ei kuitenkaan turhaan tuomita sitäkään rallia, sillä on se levyn huonoimmaksi kipaleeksi aivan loistava, jos sitä vertaa moneen muuhun levyyn. Ei välttämättä Nightwishiltä, mutta muilta bändeiltä. Pidemmittä puheitta, tässäpä on lyriikoita, joista todellakin saan irti juttuja.

En ollut tullut edes ajatelleeksi ennen tätä postausta, että Sonata Arctican ensimmäisiltä levyiltä löytyvät ne parhaimmat kipaleet. Erityisesti Ecliptica on ihan täynnä niitä biisejä, joita saatan kuunnella silloinkin, kun muuten Sonata ei kolahda - ei sitten millään. Sonatan sanoitukset ovat todella itsestäänselviä nykyään, ja on osa näistäkin, mutta silti näissä joissakin on sitä jotain. Mikäpä kolahtaa? Ei siis biisinä, vaan ihan lainauksena.
